The Cloudwatcher, Honorable Mention in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest

The Cloudwatcher, my most recent short story, was recently awarded with an Honorable Mention in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future contest. I will not be uploading it here to retain the publishing rights, but if someone is interested in reading it for consideration for publication, please do email me at dereksikkema@comcast.net.

In a dystopian future dubbed “the Era of the Storm,” Cloudwatcher Daniel Gloucester, with nothing but the advanced technology of the time period, the glasses on his dead father, and a raggedy copy of King Lear, must defend his city, St. Annapolis, from the most powerful storm that he has ever encountered and, possibly, that the planet has ever known.
